An Open Letter to Jesus Shuttlesworth

or Ray Allen for that matter...

Dear Mr. Shuttlesworth,

You are one hella good basketball player. I'm not gonna lie, when Seattle traded you, I was a little hurt by the "I was stuck in the doldrums" statement about Seattle. But I've gotten over it. I'm so happy you're in the NBA finals. You deserve it.

You straight took over the game last night. You helped lead one of the best comebacks ever in NBA playoff history.

That reverse lay-up was Jordan-esque.

That drive-by on Sasha whats-his-face was heroic.

You showed Kobe Bryant that scoring 30 points isn't the only way to win a game. But rather, 48 minutes of sheer blood, guts, and glory. You played your ass off for 48 minutes. The whole game. AMAZING. And now your team, the Boston Celtics, are on the verge of winning the NBA finals and winning another title for the city of Boston.

For once, a solid veteran NBA star gets props. I wish you were still in Seattle. But I understand people leave Seattle to move onto bigger things in life (ex. vladimir radmanovic, alex rodriguez). So I salute you, for your hard work and spectacular play. As a depressed Seattle Supersonic basketball fan, you can be assured that you and your teammates have mine and other true Seattle basketball fans' support.

Go Celtics!

Sincerely,
karazekevin Sphere: Related Content
