Ichiro thinking about the Home Run Derby

I would kill to see Ichiro in the Home Run Derby. For a guy known mostly for his slap-hitting ability, it is a well-known fact that Ichiro can will the ball over the fence. Especially during batting practice.

There has been a whole lot of talk of Ichiro hitting in the home run derby, but he has either politely declined or hasn't been asked to. This time he says he's willing to, straight from today's Seattle Times:

"Ichiro said he would think about it if asked to take part in the Home Run Derby"

For once I would like to see the MLB doing something different to generate some positive fan interest. Slotting Ichiro into the Home Run Derby would make the All-Star festivities so much more entertaining. Sphere: Related Content
