As you can see by all of the records he holds in Seattle, Gary "The Glove" Payton is obviously one of the greatest Sonics of all time. Nicknamed for his defensive tenacity, and known for his never-ending trash talk, GP was without a doubt the face of the Seattle SuperSonicss organization throughout the 90's and early 2000's.
He was a 9 time all star and played in the 1996 and 2000 Olympic games for the U.S. Along with teammate Shawn Kemp, coach George Karl and a great supporting cast, in 1996 he led the Sonics to their first NBA Championship round since they won it in '79.
