Huskies vs. Stanford: Finally! An Unranked Team!

BYU v Washington

Will this be Tyrone Willingham's last game? Frankly, I'm sick of hearing all this talk about Tyrone Willingham's hot seat. Can I see or hear an actual game analysis without the very mention of Ty?  Despite my disgust for the overused storyline, it is true.

This could be the last game for Tyrone Willingham.

This is a game the Huskies have a chance to win and should win. An unranked opponent at home. The Huskies just played three teams in the top 20 of college football..so they'll easily be able to win a game against a non-ranked team..right? I wish this logic made sense, but no logic makes sense after Oregon State beat USC last night. Without further adieu, here is my game preview:

Pre-Game Points:
  • Coming out with fire, intensity, and scoring early. These are all necessary for a solid Husky win. If they can't come out with all three of those things, I've lost my confidence in the current coaching staff. With a week of preparation, the Husky coaching staff should have their team well prepared, if not that is just plain ridiculous.
  • Limiting turnovers. The Oklahoma game was the first game where turnovers played a big role in the outcome of the game for the Huskies. The Stanford defense will be softer than the Sooners' defense, so I won't be surprised if the Huskies don't turn the ball over at all.
  • Snapping the ball with accuracy. If I see one bad snap from Juan Garcia..I will leave the stadium..not even kidding.
  • Communication between Jake Locker and his receivers. I expect a lot more from the passing game against Stanford, a softer defense along with more playing experience together, Jake and company should do alright.
  • Getting pressure on the Stanford Quarterback and forcing turnovers, both are keys for the Washington defense. I want to see this Husky defense clicking...

What to Watch For:
  • Tyrone Willingham and how his team will respond to their 0-3 record. I'll be disappointed if this game is anything but a blowout.
  • Happy fans..because this will the first win of the season for the Washington Huskies!
