Not many high school students can say that they run their own website, but Junior Kevin Cacabelos has been writing and managing his sports blog (seatownsports.net) for the past half year. Kevin describes himself as an avid sports fan and internet surfer, so a sports blog was a great way to combine his two passions."
The idea of having a Seattle sports blog came from daily lunchroom conversations in the Prep cafeteria," says Kevin. "My friends and I were always debating and discussing the Mariners, Seahawks, Sonics, and Huskies so I decided to bring these conversations to the internet."
In April of last spring, Kevin launched Seatownsports.net with fellow student Jeff Michaels '10. Today the staff has grown to include several other  students including James Satterberg as the associate editor, and Charlie Cannon and Kevin Neuzil as writers.

Seatown Sports mainly focuses on the Seahawks, Huskies, Mariners, and high school sports around the state of Washington. The blog is updated daily with posts describing and analyzing recent sports happenings. Kevin told us, "We usually bring in about 100 people each day, along with our 47 email subscribers."
The future for Seatown Sports is bright. They have already been mentioned by the websites of the Seattle PI and King 5, along with several other sports blogs. "Our number one goal is to keep on growing and increasing our email subscribers along with our daily visitors," says Kevin.
"By next April I hope to double the amount of writers for our site from 7 to 14. Lastly, we are hoping to get a site re-design eventually when we raise enough money from the advertisements on the blog."
