Who will it be? Husky Head Coach Update --11/10

Two weeks ago the firing of Husky head coach Tyrone Willingham was announced. We released over 15 different names that have mentioned among the mainstream media and other sources.  We also polled our readers on who they think should be the next head coach, here were the results: 

Chris Peterson 26%

Gary Pinkel 13%

Jeff Tedford 9%

Lane Kiffin 9%

Skip Holtz 9%

Will Muschamp 9%

It looks like Chris Peterson, the head coach of the currently undefeated Boise State Broncos is the favorite among fans right now to become the Husky head coach.

I'm going to rank the coaching candidates in my opinion of who is most likely to be hired along with a blurb of new information regarding the coach.

Note: Scott Woodward has stated that he wants to hire a coach by mid-December

Top 10 Candidates

1. Chris Peterson (Boise State Head Coach)- view our reasoning here, there are conflicting reports saying he's not interested in the job... 
2. Steve Sarkisian (USC Offensive Coordinator)- wasn't mentioned in our initial list of coaches, he's interested in the job 
   
3. Dave Christensen (Missouri Offensive Coordinator)- Washington native, name O-Coordinator of the year last year, currently works under Gary Pinkel 
4. Dewayne Walker (UCLA Defensive Coordinator)- familiar with the Pac-10, would be good for recruiting in California
5. Lane Kiffin (Former Oakland Raider Head Coach)- has expressed interest in the job, significant college coaching experience with USC
6. Will Muschamp (Texas Defensive Coordinator)- highest paid assistant coach in the Big-12 conference
7. Troy Calhoun (Air Force Head Coach)- has his team at 8-2, would he leave with this currently rising Air Force team?
   
8. Todd Graham (Tulsa Head Coach)- currently has Tulsa in 1st place in Conference USA with an 8-1 record
9. Kyle Whittingham (Utah Head Coach- wasn't mentioned in our initial list of coaches, currently has Utah undefeated with a 10-0 record..
   
10. Marty Mornhinweg (Current Philadelphia Eagles Coordinator)- could be a Charlie Weis-esque move...was interested in UW job when Neuheisel was hired
    

Probably not: Brian Billick, Mike Leach, Mike Riley, Jeff Tedford, Pat Hill, Gary Pinkel, Gary Patterson

Jim Mora can be removed the list, he has stated that he will the head coach of the Seahawks next season.
