Why they'll matter:
The Sounders over a few years will hopefully be gaining many supporters after showing their ability to win. I’m not saying that they will replace the Seahawks or Mariners as the top team in Seattle but they will be an entertaining team to watch for years to come, and will hopefully bring a championship to Seattle.Why they won't matter:
Their impact may be as much if not a little bit more than the Seattle Storm. Does anyone care at all that they won the WNBA championship in 2004? Will pundits call a Sounders FC MLS cup victory a major championship?
