Inside Scoop:

O'Dea loses a lot in their offensive line and they will also hurt from the departure of two-way player, Gabe Lee. However, as always O'Dea will reload in the trenches. Two key guys to watch out for will be offensive tackle Sam Flor (Jr.) and offensive lineman Cody Fulleton (Jr.).

The Fighting Irish will use their big offensive line to run the ball and convert on short yardage passes. Leading the running attack will be Metro 1st teamer Keenan Forch (Sr.) who ran for over 1000 yards and 15 touchdowns last season.

The biggest question facing this team is at the quarterback position. Kevin Miller (Sr.) enters the season as the Irish's starting quarterback. Miller is relatively small for the position at 5'7" and 137lbs, but within Coach Kohler's system, as long as he shows a demonstrable amount of quickness, this houldn't be too much of a problem, at least in league play. Miller will need to be able to endure some big hits when O'Dea faces off against teams like Bellevue and Liberty in the playoffs.

I see this team reaching the State semi-finals. O'Dea has a big game against Ferndale in their second week which will tell us a lot about this team.

Enemy's Take (an opposing player's view on O'Dea this season):
"They've got some big guys with some talent like FB Michael Martin who is about to tear it up this year. I think the Prep-O'Dea game will be an interesting one but other than that there isn't much competition for them in the metro division"
