Compared to the last two weeks, this week was actually pretty boring. Terrace decimated Everett. Glacier Peak destroyed Meadowdale and Marysville Getchell. Jackson turned Marysville-Pilchuck into a showcase for their wide range of scorers, and, well, that’s about it. While teams didn’t do so great as a whole, there were many individual performances that stuck out.
Player of the Week: Michael Washington Jr., Oak Harbor (Senior)
Washington won POTW honors earlier this year with a 41-point performance against Everett. This week, Washington put up 52 combined points against Marysville Getchell and Shorecrest. Washington, a guard for the four-win Oak Harbor Wildcats, has averaged 20.6 points per game in his senior year, and has put up less than 15 points only three times this year.
Runners-Up: Cannen Roberson (Stanwood), Blake Fernandez (Mountlake Terrace)

Since I like to keep the Player of the Week section to just three players total, I’ll mention some names here. Zach Pederson for Glacier Peak maintained his success this season, putting 21 on the board against Marysville Getchell. Luke Hamlin did what Luke Hamlin does...score. A lot. Terry Dawn of Arlington outscored his team with 29 points in a 56-70 loss to Jackson, Jason Todd from Jackson outscored all of his teammates with 28 points in a 52-54 loss to Monroe, and lastly Byek Tutlam, a Junior wing from Mariner, continued his late season surge, with a total of 92 points in his last 4 games.
Runners-Up for POTW honors, Cannen Roberson scored 29 in a 56-61 loss to Woodway, and Blake Fernandez, who generally has a passer mentality, has scored at least 15 in his last 3 games.
Top 10:
1. Mountlake Terrace (14-0) This week, the Hawks continued their undefeated season by first decimating the Everett Seagulls, then winning in a (poorly officiated for both ways) nail biter against Shorecrest by just 16. Wow that sounds weird, but we’ve come to expect big things from this team.
This Week: Shorewood (10-2), Marysville Getchell (1-13)
2. Glacier Peak (10-4) GP, who was ranked 10th in my rankings last week, rose all the way to the two spot by utterly dominated Meadowdale and Marysville Getchell. The Grizzlies doubled Meadowdale, beating the Mavs 56-28, before destroying Getchell 95-51.
This Week: Shorecrest (8-5), Everett (2-10)
3. Snohomish (12-2) What did I say? Just wait, Snohomish will rebound. This is still a very good team. But is it a great team? That, I’m not so sure of, as they struggled to beat Kamiak 53-50. Kamiak trailed by just 1 going into the 4th quarter.
This Week: Edmonds-Woodway (11-4), Lake Stevens (10-4)
4. Shorewood (10-2) The same goes for Shorewood as it goes for Snohomish. Shorewood is a very good team, but they aren’t that great. It showed this week, as they beat Meadowdale and Lynnwood, two teams have very disappointing seasons, by a combined 17 points.
This Week: Mountlake Terrace (14-0), Oak Harbor (4-9), Shorecrest (8-5)
5. Jackson (10-5) What a roller coaster of a season for the T-Wolves. Starting the year out 0-2, then going on a 7-1 streak, and now 2-2 in their last 4 games. With tough matchups from Lake Stevens and Woodway this week, Jackson could lose their spot on top of WesCo South.
