After looking at Jabari Brown and Tony Wroten, this post will focus on Angelo Chol, another 2011 Husky recruit. Angelo Chol is a 6’8” center from San Diego, California. He is rated as a four-star recruit and is ranked third at his position according to Scout.com.

Scouting Report:
Chol is a left-hander that can score in numerous ways inside and outside of the paint. Chol’s best and favorite move is his jump hook. If this move becomes consistent, he could find the same success that former Husky Jamaal Williams had. Defensively, Chol is one of the best shot-blockers in the country. With an excellent sense of timing and long arms, Chol is a force in defending the paint.

Potential:
Chol started playing basketball in the seventh grade and has yet to reach his full potential. Scouts have noticed that he is not aggressive enough offensively. This is something to watch, especially with Chol having to adjust to the speed of the college game. However, his raw skill set is there and if Chol can learn to run and play in transition well, then he’ll be a perfect fit with the Huskies.

Recruitment:
The Huskies are among Chol’s final group of five: UW, Alabama, Connecticut, Georgetown, and Kansas. Chol stated that he will choose a school in the Spring signing period, meaning the performance of the Huskies during the season could play a role in his decision.
