You've taken on an expanded role and the team seems to be succeeding. With this said, what's the season been like for you so far? Our team as a whole has been looking good since the offseason. Guys put in the work in the weight room all summer and it has payed off. This season has started off nice and I think we're looking good going forward to the end of the season and playoffs. We've had alot of seniors step up this year and take on bigger roles. We have some good players this year, but more importantly, the team works well together and it's been a great season so far.
Who are some seniors that are stepping it up this season?
On the line Charlie Spencer Davis, Sean Barber, Connor Martin and Jack Maurer have stepped up and taken on starting positions. Some juniors like Jacob Green, Parker Mays and Gil Beisold Magee have also stepped up impressively.
What were your goals at the start of the season as a team?
Our goal this year is to get further into the playoffs than last year. We had a good season last year but our goal is to improve. We're looking to move along in the state playoffs and win some big games.
What's it been like playing with Nick Holt?
Nick is obviously a great football player, but he is also a great teammate to play with. He makes big plays and takes leadership on the field. Nick is a good guy and he is in is element as a captain of the team.
What has been one highlight to you so far this season?
The biggest highlight for me this season was winning our game against Eastside Catholic. It was an incredibly competitive game and there were a lot of emotion going into the game. We have had some great highlights but Eastside Catholic was the biggest for me.
Who in your opinion was the most talented individual that Prep has faced?
I think that Jeff Lindquist was the most talented player we've face so far. He carried their his and played us tough. We've seen some good athletes but Lindquist was the most impressive to me.
What's the team's mindset like moving forward and heading towards the playoffs?
We're really looking to prove that we are a legitimate contender at a higher level than Prep has been at in the past. We know that we are always going to be considered the underdogs, so our mindset is to just play our game and show that we can compete in the playoffs.
