After their the first two road games, in the three game stretch, the Sounders have the Cascadia Cup in hand, a playoff spot clinched and have advanced to the second round of the CONCACAF Champions league. They are looking to prove themselves as an elite team in the MLS.
After visiting Vancouver on the September 24th, the Sounders flew down to Guatemala for a match on the 27th and now end with an east coast game against New England. Overall, the Sounders have traveled a little over 9000 miles in a span of nine days. While usually this tires teams out and leads to lackluster games, the Sounders have been able to show the strenth of their depth on the roster.
The good news for this road trip is that the Sounders have faced the two bottom teams from each division in Vancouver and now New England. While New England is at the bottom, they have had some good recent results with plenty of scoring. Led by Forward Shalrie Joseph and his eight goals, the Revolution had a big 2-0 win against Dallas.
While this may not appear to be a tough match, the Sounders should be careful not to underestimate the Revolution, especially after all of this traveling. I believe Sigi Schmid has this team focused going through this final game of the road trips and the Sounders will pull out a 3-1 victory.
Go Sounders!!
